AMVCA 2026 CULTURAL DAY – PAST EVENT RECAP
Date: Friday, 8 May 2026
Location: Lagos, Nigeria
The AMVCA 2026 Cultural Day (also referred to as Cultural Night) was a spectacular celebration of African pride and creativity. Held on Friday, May 8, it served as the vibrant heartbeat of the 12th Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards week. The event has evolved into far more than a pre-awards event. It is now one of Africa’s most visually important cultural fashion moments; where identity, artistry, royalty, femininity, and storytelling collide in spectacular fashion.
This year’s edition, held on May 8 in Lagos, felt especially grand, dedicated to “Celebrating Culture”, with celebrities, filmmakers, and guests showcasing the richness and diversity of African heritage through stunning traditional and contemporary African fashion, music, and performances. The red carpet was filled with bold, elaborate, and artistic interpretations of African identity – a beautiful and stylish display of culture, storytelling, and community.
Every woman at the event made a statement, and we couldn’t help but admire the elegance, creativity, and pride with which they embodied African culture.
