LAGOS CITY MARATHON 2026

History was made on the streets of Lagos.

The 2026 Lagos City Marathon delivered pure inspiration, grit, and unforgettable moments as thousands of runners took on the 42km challenge. Standout performances:

  • Women’s 42km Gold: Meseret Dinke (Ethiopia) in a blazing 2:37:36
  • Men’s 42km Gold: Ezra Kipchumba Kering (Kenya) stormed to victory in 2:11:55
  • First Nigerian finisher: Boyi S. Nyango crossed in an impressive 2:25:32

Beyond the podium, the real story was in every runner who refused to quit – from elite athletes to everyday individual pushing their limits. The city came alive with cheers, energy, and heart, turning the marathon into a celebration of resilience and community. Awards were handed out, but every finisher carried their own victory story. It wasn’t just a race; it was a showcase of Lagos spirit at its finest.
